Intensive IT week : a challenge for a secure and connected future
From January 13 to 17, 2025, ENSICAEN is organizing the 17th edition of its Intensive Computer Science Week in partnership with GripID, a specialist in advanced biometric devices. For five days, 80 students will put their skills to the test to take on an ambitious technological challenge: designing innovative security and connectivity solutions to improve education, transportation, and videoconferencing.
Five days to design, prototype, and perfect digital solutions
Facial recognition, fingerprint sensors, ID card and passport readers, future engineers have GripID’s high-performance biometric technologies at their disposal. Supervised by professionals and teacher-researchers from the GREYC laboratory, students are divided into teams to take on concrete and ambitious challenges focused on four themes :
• Local authorities: simplifying and securing administrative procedures.
• Secure videoconferencing: strengthening the confidentiality of exchanges.
• Payments in transport: improving the fluidity and security of journeys.
• Educational presence: reliable monitoring of attendance.
GripID, a technological partner of choice
GripID, a company specializing in biometrics and identity verification, offers innovative technologies that are easily integrated into smartphones, tablets or computers via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. By providing its cutting-edge tools, GripID allows students to familiarize themselves with solutions used in strategic sectors such as cybersecurity or digital payments.
The Intensive Computer Science Week offers engineering students an opportunity to put their skills into practice in a stimulating environment to immerse themselves in real-world technological issues and explore cutting-edge solutions. The projects are presented to a jury of professionals during a final demonstration combining technical and marketing aspects on Monday, January 20.
